Lohseplatz is to be developed into a worthy memorial and a place of commemoration and learning. The permanent exhibition planned will center on Lohseplatz as a deportation site, the process of persecution and disenfranchisement, the role played by the people responsible and those who profited, but above all else it will focus on the biographies of the victims.

The exhibition area is planned for the ground and first floors of a new seven-floor building being constructed right on Lohseplatz. This location is directly adjacent to the historic forecourt of the former Hannoverscher Bahnhof and offers a visual line connecting the historical relics with the present-day railway course.

The documentation center with an exhibition area of about five hundred square meters is expected to open in 2013 and will be organizationally supervised by the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial.
